Tom Kuperus

Tom is a New Zealand trained Orthopaedic Surgeon offering consultations for hip, knee, shoulder and general orthopaedic conditions.  He provides friendly and personalised care and will take time to understand your goals and expectations. After a thorough assessment he will present treatment options and guide patients towards appropriate intervention.

He specialises in anterior and posterior hip replacements and hip revision surgery.  He treats all conditions around the knee including a range of procedures for degenerative conditions including robotic knee replacements, partial knee replacements and realignment procedures.  He has fellowship training in contemporary techniques to manage sports injuries and patellofemoral conditions. Tom has the capacity to see patients on an urgent basis who may require time critical surgery.

He has a position at Whangarei Base Hospital where he participates in trauma call, and performs elective surgery including a significant volume of hip, knee and shoulder arthroplasty.  He is heavily involved with supervising Registrars and teaching Medical Students from Auckland and international Universities.
